It is an honor to sculpt a memorial. It is so humbling to help a community pay tribute to the legacy of first responders and their sacrifices.
I felt immense privilege to install a piece at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer Memorial. This memorial includes 62 names of lives given in the line of duty. It also includes three life size bronze sculptures stand by the wall; two officers flanking the wall, and one officer laying a rose at the site, on top of an illuminated thin blue line.
This memorial also includes a Forever Flame, always burning, to remind visitors of the tremendous sacrifice that officers make, and to honor and respect all of the fallen officers.
This project took over a year from start to the final install. Jacksonville holds a ceremony every year to honor the LODD in the community. I have no words for the honor I feel to play a part in showing my respect of those who gave everything to serve and protect.
