On April 26th, 2018 I attended the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer Memorial. I went to pay my respects, and also to unveil the sheriff’s memorial. The tribute includes 61 names of those whose lives were given in the line of duty. It is my honor to have engraved each of these heroes’ names. In addition to the memorial wall, I added 3 bronze sculptures. The sheriff’s tribute shows 1 male and 1 female officer flanking the wall, and another officer laying a rose at the site. The sheriff’s memorial also shows an illuminated thin blue line, running the height of the wall. The full piece can be seen via the link below.
This memorial also includes a Forever Flame. The bronze sculpture sits atop the memorial wall. It is always burning, to remind visitors of the sacrifices that officers make. This Sheriff’s memorial honors and respect all of the fallen officers. The memorial and tribute is available for anyone who wants to come memorialize and honor the police officers in our country.
The Sherriff’s tribute took over a year from sculpting clay to the final install in Jacksonville. The city holds a ceremony every year to honor all who died in the line of duty (LODD) within the community. It is an honor play a part in showing my respect for my brothers and sisters in blue. They gave everything to serve and protect. Thank you. A picture of the Sherrif’s memorial is below.
