In 2019, I was commissioned to sculpt a Cowboy hat. This was to be no ordinary hat sculpture. This sculpture to honor the late Larimer County Commissioner, Lew Gaiter.
The hat was a replica of his signature cap he wore around Larimer County for almost 9 years.
Lew Gaiter was a true Colorado Native man who was proud of his roots. When he moved to California for a job, he bought his first hat to display his Colorado pride and to show people where he came from.
