Check out this article about the dedication of one of my favorite pieces, “The Golden Years” in Wyoming. I love knowing that my art brings joy and connection to communities around the US. Bronze statue donated to The Legacy thanks to Kate Weis Trust (cchwyo.org)
My grandparents everlasting love for one another is the inspiring motive behind “The Golden Years”. I wanted to capture their love. This facility is perfect for its installation. Love is a huge connection in life. I want people to feel that loving feeling. Being an artist in a fire department, it is an extension of being a part of a family. When employees come in, they find that it is a family place. Those people they are caring for are an extension of their family. That’s what the care is here, at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming . You’re only going to get the highest and best care here.
“Austin has a passion for firefighting and being a sculptor, every piece of art he creates has a real-life meaning. Austin hopes that The Golden Years statue, “brings joy to both the folks who live at The Legacy and the employees who generously care for them like family.” You can learn more about Austin online at austinweishel.com or on his Facebook page.”-Felicia Messimer
